펜서의 의무
t.15. 1. 펜서는 스스로 의 무기, 장비, 복장을 스스로 준비할 의무가 있으며 그에 대해 각자 책임을 진다
2. 규칙에 의한 안전 점검과 첨부된 표준과 현행 규칙(cf. Material Rules)에 의한 제어 수단들은 펜서의 안전을 향상시키기 위한 것이지 안전을 보장하는 것은 아니다. 그러므로 어떤 일이 발생하더라도 그 책임을 FIE, 혹은 컴피티션 주최자, 혹은 해당 조직의 직원이나 개인, 혹은 그 사고를 야기한 사람에게 책임을 물 수 없다.

CHAPTER 4. THE FENCERS’ EQUIPMENT
(Weapons — Equipment — Clothing)
Responsibility of fencers
t.15. 1. Fencers arm, equip and clothe themselves and fence at their own
responsibility and at their own risk.
2. The safety measures specified in the Rules and in the standards
contained in the annexe to them and the methods of control laid down
in the present Rules (cf. Material Rules) are only designed to increase
the fencers’ safety and cannot guarantee it. They cannot,
therefore, whatever the manner in which they are applied, impart
responsibility to the FIE, or to the organisers of competitions, to the
officials or personnel who carry out such organisation, or to those
who may cause an accident.
